Viral songs, streaming records and the hits of the last few years. A short decade, so every year of difference counts.

In a decade this young the gap between songs is small, which is exactly what makes it hard. Placing a 2021 song before a 2023 one needs real attention to what was everywhere when.

It is the best decade for players who are less into old music. Teenagers know it better than their parents, and the roles of a family game night flip for a round.

How it works

  1. 1

    Log in with a code

Enter your email address and type the code we send you. No password, no app.

  2. 2

    Pick a deck

Choose a popular deck, one of your own, or scan the QR code of a deck you have.

  3. 3

    Add the players

Add everyone who plays and choose how many cards are needed to win. One phone is enough.

  4. 4

    Listen and place

Hear a 30 second preview and place the song on your timeline. Right answers grow your timeline, the first to fill it wins.

The timeline in one look

Every player builds a timeline of songs in release order. You never see the year of the new song: you listen, then decide where it fits between the songs you already placed.

Tips for this game

Remember the trends

Social media songs come and go within months. Think about when a sound was in every video.

Keep it a short game

With narrow year gaps, a target of five cards keeps the pace up.

Let the youngest lead

Give them the phone first. They will rarely need the preview twice.

What you get

One phone, whole group

The phone goes from hand to hand. Nobody needs their own device or an account.

Real music

Songs play as 30 second previews, enough to recognise a chorus and argue about the year.

Free decks to start

Popular public decks are free to play. Want your own songs? Turn any playlist into a deck, the first 100 cards are free.

Frequently asked questions

Does it include brand new songs?

The decks hold whatever songs their creators added, and the game plays a preview when one exists. Newer songs are fine as long as a preview is available.

Is this too easy for a young group?

It is the hardest to place because the years are close. Use a long target for a real challenge.

Do I need to install an app?

No. The game runs in your phone browser. You only log in with a code sent to your email address.

Can we play together on different phones?

Not yet. The game is made for one phone that the group passes around, the way you would pass a stack of cards.
