The game comes down to one question: when did this song come out? Hitify makes the cards, you build the timeline.
Pick your songs
Import your Spotify, YouTube Music or Tidal playlist, or search by hand. Mix eras for a tougher timeline.
Generate the cards
Each card shows a QR code on the front and the release year on the back, so players only see the answer after they guess.
Print and build the timeline
Download the PDF and print at home, or order printed cards. Scan a song, guess the year and place the card in the right spot.
A fair timeline game
Verified years
We check every release year via MusicBrainz and ISRC. The timeline holds up and you never guess wrong because of a bad year.
No app needed
Scan the QR code with your normal phone camera. Spotify or YouTube opens and the song plays right away.

Same timeline mechanic as the original Hitster board game. Mix the cards in or play as a standalone pack.
How guess the year works
Guess the year is a timeline game. You scan a card, listen to the song and place it in the right spot among the cards already on the table: did this come out before or after 1985? The player who reads the years best builds the longest timeline.
It lives or dies on accurate years. Hand-made lists pick up mistakes and then the whole timeline falls apart. Hitify verifies every release year via MusicBrainz and ISRC, so you always play fair. You build the game from your own playlist, not a fixed set.

Really nice and easy!
Superfijn en makkelijk!
Very easy-to-use app. I especially like that you can submit a correction for the year, and if it's right it gets applied straight away. The different ways to vary the printout are great too. Highly recommended!
Sehr empfehlenswert!

Frequently asked questions
How do you play guess the year?
You scan a card, listen to the song and place it in the right spot on the table timeline: before or after the cards already there. If your read on the year is right, the card stays. First player to build a row of, say, ten cards wins.
How do I know the years are right?
We verify every release year via MusicBrainz and ISRC instead of a hand-typed list. That keeps the timeline fair so you can't guess wrong because of a bad year.
Do I need an app?
No. You scan the QR code with your phone's normal camera and the song plays instantly in Spotify, YouTube Music or Apple Music.
Can I use my own music?
Yes. Import your Spotify, YouTube or Tidal playlist or search for individual songs. Mix eras to make the timeline harder.
Is it free?
Your first 100 cards are free as a PDF download, no account needed. Bigger sets (up to 1000 cards) cost just a few euros.
