The dance floor as a card game
Perfect for the warm-up
A deck of club hits works at a birthday, a festival pre-glow or a night with friends who clock every drop. The beats come out, and so do the arguments.
Guess the year
Players guess the release year and place each card in the right spot on the timeline. Sounds easy until a '99 classic lands next to a recent edit.
Mix with the original Hitster
Our cards share the format and QR style of the original Hitster game: add your dance deck to an existing set or play it as a standalone pack.
Your own picks
No fixed list. You decide whether it goes pure techno, broad EDM radio hits, or a mix across decades of dance.
Building a dance deck
A good dance deck plays on recognition. Build around a few pillars: the early house and techno that shaped the genre, the trance and eurodance peaks, and the EDM radio hits of recent years. Spread the years wide, because dance runs from the early 90s to last month. That makes guessing trickier than you would think: a synth line from '95 and one from 2015 can sound suspiciously alike.
Keep it around 50 to 80 cards for a game that flows. Drop in a few obscure club tracks to make the experts sweat. Ready to build? Start the cards, or first read how to make your own Hitster cards.

Really nice and easy!
Superfijn en makkelijk!
Very easy-to-use app. I especially like that you can submit a correction for the year, and if it's right it gets applied straight away. The different ways to vary the printout are great too. Highly recommended!
Sehr empfehlenswert!

Frequently asked questions
How many dance tracks should I pick?
For a party game, 50 to 80 cards works best. Want a big timeline of the whole genre? You can make up to 1000 cards.
How does "guess the year" work?
Players scan the QR code, listen to the track and guess the release year. The card is placed in the right spot on the timeline. Exactly like in the original Hitster.
Does it work with the original Hitster?
Yes. Our cards share the same format and QR codes that play directly, so you can mix your dance deck with an existing Hitster set or play it as a standalone pack.
Are the years of remixes and edits accurate?
We verify every release year via MusicBrainz and ISRC. With dance, a remix can carry a different year than the original: you choose which version goes in your deck.
