What is the biggest difference between Hitify and Marimic?
What is printed on the card. Marimic cards carry no song text: the QR code points at whichever category or playlist you picked, so one deck lasts and new songs arrive digitally with no expansion to buy. Can I play my own playlist with Marimic?
Yes. Marimic has a custom category where you supply your own songs, and Forflutna has been moving that from Spotify playlist links to song lists, adding Apple Music and YouTube Music support. The cards stay neutral, so your titles and years are not printed on them.
Do I need an app or a paid subscription?
Hitify cards scan with the ordinary camera app on any phone, nothing to install. Marimic is the same: its own app is optional and you need a phone or tablet with a camera and an internet connection. Marimic recommends Spotify Premium, YouTube Music Premium or Apple Music for the best experience but does not require it.
