Hitify vs Canva: the easy way to make Hitster cards

Canva is great for designing things, but for music cards it only gives you a blank template: you make each QR code in a separate generator and type every release year by hand. No playlist import, no scanner. Hitify works the other way around. Paste your playlist and get game-ready QR cards with verified years in minutes.

Why Hitify

Where Hitify makes the difference

No QR-code copy-paste

In Canva you make a QR code per song in a separate tool and paste it onto the template by hand. Hitify generates every QR code automatically: for your whole deck at once.

Years that are correct

Canva knows nothing about release years; you type them yourself and one typo breaks the game. Hitify verifies every year via MusicBrainz and ISRC.

Playlist in, cards out

Canva has no playlist import. With Hitify you paste a Spotify, YouTube Music or Tidal playlist and every song is added instantly.

Built-in scanner

A Canva card is just an image. Hitify cards scan with your normal phone camera and the song plays straight away.

Very easy-to-use app. I especially like that you can submit a correction for the year, and if it's right it gets applied straight away. The different ways to vary the printout are great too. Highly recommended!

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I not make Hitster cards in Canva?

You can, but you only get a blank template. For every song you make a QR code in a separate generator, paste it onto the card and type the release year by hand. For a few cards that is fine; for a whole deck it is hours of work. Hitify does all of that automatically.

Is Canva bad then?

Not at all. Canva is an excellent design tool for posters, social media and invitations. It is just not built for music cards: there is no playlist import, no automatic QR codes, no year checking and no scanner. That is exactly what Hitify is made for.

What is the biggest difference?

Speed and accuracy. With Canva you do everything by hand and a wrong year can break the game. With Hitify you paste a playlist and get game-ready cards with verified years in about 5 minutes.

Do I need an app to scan with Hitify?

No. You scan the QR code with your phone's normal camera mode. Spotify, YouTube Music or Apple Music opens instantly. A Canva card is just an image with no working scan.
