Head Trip 2026: one stage, one weekend, never again
On October 10 and 11, 2026, Goldenvoice (the team behind Coachella) takes over the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, for something it has never done before: Head Trip, a dance music festival that will happen exactly once. There is a single stage and not one overlapping set, so nobody has to choose between two favourites. You simply stay put and watch the whole thing unfold.
The lineup reads like a greatest hits album of the last fifteen years of dance music. Saturday brings Calvin Harris, FISHER b2b Chris Lake, Peggy Gou b2b Four Tet and Seth Troxler b2b Ben Sterling. Sunday belongs to Swedish House Mafia, Skrillex, Dom Dolla b2b KETTAMA, The Blessed Madonna and DJ Harvey. On the side, Floating Points brings his Sunflower Sound System to the US for the first time, inside its own dome.
What is Hitster?
Hitster is the party game where every card hides a song behind a QR code. You scan it, listen, and place the card on your timeline by release year. Get the order right and the card is yours. The first player with ten cards on their timeline wins.
It sounds easy until you are staring at a festival anthem you have heard a thousand times and have no idea whether it came out in 2011 or 2014. That is exactly why dance music makes such good Hitster material.
Why the Head Trip lineup is perfect for Hitster
Dance music years are sneaky. Big room anthems stay on festival stages for a decade, get remixed, sampled and rereleased, and end up feeling timeless. Ask a room full of people when "Don't You Worry Child" came out and you will hear guesses anywhere from 2010 to 2016.
The Head Trip lineup also spans a lot of ground. You get the EDM peak of Swedish House Mafia and Skrillex, the radio crossovers of Calvin Harris, the tech house wave led by FISHER and Dom Dolla, and the more recent club sound of Peggy Gou. That spread gives your timeline plenty of close calls.

12 songs for your Head Trip Hitster pack
Here is a starting list built from the artists on the Head Trip bill. Every year below is the original release, not a later remaster:
Twelve cards is a warm-up. Add a few deeper cuts from the b2b sets, some Chris Lake or The Blessed Madonna, and you have a pack that rewards the people who were actually on the dancefloor.
How to build the pack with Hitify
With Hitify you turn a list like this into a real Hitster pack in a few minutes. Paste a Spotify playlist or search the tracks one by one, and Hitify checks the original release year of each song. That matters for dance music, because streaming services love to show the year of a remaster or compilation instead of the year the track actually dropped.
When the list is ready, download your cards as a printable PDF with QR codes, or order a printed deck delivered to your door. Scan the codes with your phone and play.
