Damnation Festival 2026: Europe's Biggest Indoor Extreme Metal Weekend
On 7 and 8 November 2026 the BEC Arena in Manchester fills with around 6,000 metalheads for Damnation Festival. Cult of Luna and Satyricon headline, backed by Carcass, Igorrr, Crowbar, Triptykon, Eyehategod, Health, Wolves in the Throne Room and Pelican. Damnation started in Manchester in 2005, spent years in Leeds and came home in 2022 as a two-day event.
The genre mix is the charm: sludge, black metal, post-metal, grindcore and industrial all share one bill. Plenty of these bands are older than some of their fans, which makes the release years surprisingly hard to guess.
What is a Hitster-style game?
Hitster is the card game where each card hides a song behind a QR code. You scan it, listen, and place the card on your personal timeline by release year. Right order, you keep the card. First to ten wins.
Heavy music is great Hitster material. Was Heartwork before or after Wolverine Blues? Did Satyricon record Mother North in the nineties? Even fans lose these duels.

Damnation has no official playlist, so these 11 tracks come from the bands on the poster and the scene around them. Years are the original release of each recording:
Paste a Spotify playlist or search songs one by one with Hitify and it checks the original release year of every track. Then download a printable PDF with QR codes or order a printed deck.
More festival packs: the Wacken Hitster-style pack and the ADE Hitster-style pack. Before game night, read our tips for guessing release years.
