Sick New World Texas 2026: nu-metal comes to Fort Worth
On Saturday October 24, 2026, Sick New World leaves Las Vegas for the first time. The festival takes over Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth for one long day, with more than 50 bands on two stages and gates opening at noon. If you were a teenager with a wallet chain around the year 2000, this is your day.
Sick New World started in Las Vegas in 2023. It was created by Live Nation and David "Beno" Benveniste of Velvet Hammer, the management company behind System of a Down, and it is run by C3 Presents. The idea was simple: one day for nu-metal, alt-metal and the heavy music around it. The 2025 edition, with Metallica and Linkin Park on top, was cancelled, but the festival came back in Las Vegas in April 2026 with System of a Down and Korn. Texas is its first expansion.
System of a Down and Deftones headline. Slayer play Reign in Blood from start to finish, and Evanescence, The Prodigy, Marilyn Manson, Ministry, Mastodon, AFI and Knocked Loose are on the bill too. Then come the bands that defined early 2000s rock radio: P.O.D., Alien Ant Farm, Coal Chamber, Orgy, Kittie, Filter and Snot. The Prodigy, Power Trip, Down and Deafheaven play this date only.
What is Hitster?
Hitster is the party game where every card hides a song behind a QR code. You scan it, listen and place the card on your timeline by release year. If the order is right, the card is yours. The first player with ten cards wins.
Most decks are full of radio pop. A Sick New World deck is loud, and that makes it fun: everybody at the table knows these choruses, and almost nobody knows the years.
Why Sick New World makes a great Hitster pack
Nu-metal squeezes a huge amount of music into a few years. In 2001 alone you get "Chop Suey!", "Youth of the Nation" and "Smooth Criminal", so a timeline full of 2000, 2001 and 2003 cards turns every turn into a small argument. Was "Change (In the House of Flies)" before or after "Chop Suey!"? (Before, by about a year.)
There are proper traps too. "Smooth Criminal" is a Michael Jackson song from 1987, but the Alien Ant Farm cover is from 2001. "Blue Monday" is New Order's 1983 classic, while Orgy's version is from 1998. And Slayer's "Raining Blood" came out in 1986, before most of the crowd in Fort Worth was born.

12 songs for your Sick New World Hitster pack
Here is a starting list built from this year's lineup. Every year is the original release of that recording:
Want more? Add System of a Down's "Toxicity" (2001), Deftones' "Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)" (1997), The Prodigy's "Breathe" (1996) and Mastodon's "Blood and Thunder" (2004). Put the two Deftones songs in the same deck and see who knows which album came first.
How to build the pack with Hitify
With Hitify you turn a list like this into a real Hitster pack in minutes. Paste a Spotify playlist or search the songs one by one, and Hitify checks the original release year of every track. That matters for this genre, where remasters, deluxe editions and anniversary reissues often show the wrong year on streaming services.
When your list is ready, download the cards as a printable PDF with QR codes, or order a printed deck delivered to your door. Scan with your phone and play.
