How it works

Your own pack in 3 steps

No Canva template, no QR generator, no spreadsheet of release years.

01

Choose a theme

A decade, a genre, a country, a wedding, or simply the songs your group actually knows. The theme is what makes a pack fun to play.

02

Build the pack

Paste a playlist link and the whole thing loads at once, or add tracks one by one. Each card gets a unique QR code and a release year we verify.

03

Print and play

Download the finished pack as a print-ready PDF, or order it printed on proper card stock and delivered.

Why Hitify

What makes a pack worth printing

Years that are right

Every release year is checked against MusicBrainz and the track ISRC. A hand-built pack usually dates the reissue instead of the original, and the timeline is the whole game.

No app to install

Scan a card with the normal phone camera and the song opens in Spotify, YouTube Music or Tidal. Your guests install nothing.

Plays with the original

Same card size and the same scanning idea as the boxed game, so your pack can be shuffled into an existing Hitster deck or played on its own.

Free to try properly

The first 100 cards are free as a PDF, which is already a full evening. Bigger packs cost a few euros.

Pack size

How many cards should a pack have?

The boxed game ships around 300 cards, but a pack does not need that many to play well. Roughly 60 to 100 cards is one relaxed evening for four to six people, and it is the size most people print first. Around 200 cards is a pack you can keep on the shelf and play repeatedly without seeing the same song every round.

Beyond that, size matters less than fit. Fifty songs your friends can actually place beat five hundred they have never heard. If you are building for a party, weight the pack towards the years the room grew up in and leave the deep cuts out.

This was an awesome idea. We love having game nights with our friends. We 10/10 recommend especially if you love music games as much as we do.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I create my own Hitster pack for free?

Yes. Build the pack, download it as a print-ready PDF and print it at home. The first 100 cards are free, with no account and no card details. Packs above that size cost a few euros in one payment.

Does my pack work with the original Hitster game?

Yes. The cards are the same size and scan the same way, so you can shuffle your pack into an existing Hitster deck or play it entirely on its own.

Do I need the Hitster app to play my pack?

No. Point the normal phone camera at the QR code and the song opens in Spotify, YouTube Music or Tidal. Nobody at the table has to install anything.

Where do the release years come from?

From MusicBrainz, matched by the track ISRC rather than by title, so a live version or a reissue does not quietly become the year on the card. Hand-built packs get this wrong constantly, and the timeline is the game.

Can I order my pack printed instead of printing it myself?

Yes. Order the same pack printed on sturdy card and delivered, which is worth it for a gift or a pack you plan to play often.

How long does it take to make a pack?

A few minutes. Pasting a playlist is the fast route: the songs, the QR codes and the years are all filled in for you, and the PDF is ready to download straight away.

Ready to create your pack?

Paste a playlist and print tonight. The first 100 cards are free.
